Squirrely Acres hosts camps throughout the year, March Break camps, PA Day camps and summer camps. Our camps give you a taste of everything a percheron can do, from driving, to riding and showmanship. Camps run usually from 930am to 330pm and are $100 per day or $400 for 5 days. Bring your own lunch and riding equipment. With our new facitily we can do horse activities all day no matter the weather! Crafts, learning and fun can happen in our new lounge! Looking forward to camps in 2025!
If you want to learn to ride on a big, safe horse then Squirrely Acres is the place to learn. Percherons are large but they are so quiet and predictable that they are safe for all levels and sizes of riders. Lessons are $50 plus HST for an hour. Focusing on horsemanship and learning.Â

Pay per ride
$25.00 plus HST for hour ride. First time riding one of my horses $50+HST lesson to learn how to ride them from me. More lessons are optional in the future from me or can use a horse in lesson with another coach. You pay the $25 +HST to me and pay whatever the coach charges. Dressage coach comes weekly for lessons already, so she is available for lessons as well. You will Pay per ride and will ride whatever horse is available the days you want to ride.
Co-Boarding
$250 +HST per month. Co-Boarding means that you get to ride one horse 3 days a week for no more than an hour. You have priority to ride that horse for the month. $50+HST additional cost for first ride as a lesson from me to see how you ride and teach you how to ride that horse. Outside coaching allowed for your 3 days a week. Cost for lesson to be paid by you. If anything happens to the horse you are co-boarding that month, another will be offered to you, or money refunded based on time of month. ($25 per ride left at 3 days a week). If you do not come on out 3 days a week then no refunds are given. If missed due to illness, some make up days will be given if it works out. Co-boarding can lead to leasing for showing if one wishes for the show season. Additional fees associated with showing will occur.
Leasing
$350+HST per month. Leasing is having a horse with the intention of showing for the show season. Lessons not included but encouraged with either Katie, Dressage coach or coach of your choosing. Showing is not limited to Dressage, fun shows, fall fairs or group trail rides are also options. No jumping. Leased horse can be ridden 5 days a week, not including shows but time off after shows will be given. Fall fair leasing also includes driving said horse in the cart classes, line classes and riding classes including the royal. Showing has additional fees. Leasing also has vet, farrier and maintenance fees on top of the monthly fee. Trailering to lessons and clinics is permitted with a leased horse but horse is to continue to live at Squirrely Acres. If horse is unable to show another horse will be offered if available or money given back for the remainder of the month. If you do not show or not show up to ride, money will not be refunded, and lease will be forfeited. Long term sickness/injury of rider will be discussed and changed with the illness.
